Bardin Road Project Highlight

We were called to look at an erosion problem in the creek channel behind Bardin Road's parking lot. Upon investigation, we determined that the channel had a bank failure known as a “rotational slump” caused by water seeping through the bank.

They had already attempted to repair one section of the channel by installing steel plates and I-beams along the toe of the bank and loading the face of the bank with rock.

However, adding weight to the bank only made it rotate more. In order to reverse this issue, we designed a reinforced earth bank with a drainage layer that allows the seepage water to reach the creek.

This also allowed us to move their fence back to the original location before the failure, providing them with more parking area.

When the project was complete, we revegetated the face of the bank using native seed suitable for high flow areas.
